This project will focus on assessing a range of options for future uses of the museum-s derelict boilerhouse enabling it to be stabilised and accessible to visitors.Developed to RIBA Stage 2, these options will reflect upon the museum-s strategic objectives including;a. Enhancing collections preservation and access - stabilising / restoring the building, preserving itsunique Lancashire Boilers and developing interpretation opportunities.b. Development of a connected visitor journey at the museum-s historic core through the provisionof public access alongside and ideally within a significant building.c. Enhancing interpretation and learning through the development of displays telling the stories offormer workers, the building-s history and the energy story.d. Assessing potential events provision and income generation, central to the museum-s ongoingsustainability
