Description:
The Transitional Supported Accommodation Service aims to deliver an intensive twenty-four hour staffed accommodation for young people aged 16-24 who have a range of complex support needs and who require an intensive level of enhanced housing and transitional support. The service will provide twenty-four hour fixed site support, for up to a maximum of five young people. The property is provided by a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and there will be a housing management agreement in place. The property is in a central location in Neath town centre and consists of six self-contained one-bedroom flats (with one flat allocated for on-site staff use). The service will provide a stable, consistent and safe environment so that the young people can be supported to build their independence skills to be able to reflect and make clear, appropriate choices for their future. The support provided will be person centred, outcome focused and trauma informed. The service will primarily aim to support young people aged 16 or 17 to 'step down' from residential care or when current accommodation services are unsuitable due to the level of support required. The Council intends to tender the service for a contract start date of 1st April 2026.
