Description:
Stowmarket Town Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for improvement and enhancement works at Stowmarket Recreation Ground. The objective of this project is to improve access, usability, and the visual appeal of the site, ensuring that it continues to serve as a valued community asset for residents and visitors. The scope of works includes, but is not limited to: • Design, fabrication, and installation of a new entrance archway, creating a welcoming and distinctive focal point for the site. • Refurbishment of the existing toilet block, including internal and external upgrades to improve functionality, safety, and accessibility. • Removal of existing bollards and installation of new bollards, improving site access control and public safety. Stowmarket Town Council requires that all works under this contract are completed no later than the end of March 2026. This timeline aligns with a separate capital project at the Recreation Ground - the installation of a brand-new play area - and the coordination of both projects is essential to minimise disruption and deliver a joined-up transformation of the site by Easter 2026.
