Cumberland Council is committed to placing health and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.

We recognise that a healthy, supported, and resilient workforce is essential to delivering high-quality, inclusive public services that reflect the needs of our residents and communities.

Our ambition is to achieve positive outcomes in health and wellbeing, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability across Cumberland.

The Council is currently reviewing its options for the future delivery of its Occupational Health Service (OHS), as the existing hosted service arrangements are due to conclude on 31 March 2026.

We are seeking services that will help us improve workforce attendance, meet statutory obligations around health surveillance, and identify preventative measures to reduce sickness absence.

The service will also play a key role in promoting employee wellbeing and supporting the Council-s strategic priorities as set out in the Cumberland Council Plan.

An early draft of the service specification will be shared with the market shortly and will be attached to this notice once available.

The Council is committed to conducting procurement in a fair, transparent, and inclusive manner in line with the Procurement Act 2023.
