This Contract is split into two elements;Coroner's Daily Removals/Collections: The collection of the deceased from their place of death, or where the body lies, to the Suppliers Chapel of Rest, at the direction of the Coroner, the Coroner's Representative, or Police Officer.Coroner's Post Mortem Transfers: The transportation of the deceased from either a chapel of rest or hospital mortuary to the contracted mortuary for post mortem. This contract is particularly delicate in that any arrangements must recognise the sensitive and distressing situations involving the removal of the deceased. The deceased must be removed using suitable equipment and appropriate manual handling techniques ensuring no further damage to the body occurs or distress to relatives and bystanders.
