Description:
The Consultant is required to undertake inception, mobilisation, project management, business case stages development and technical inputs to the process that supports the case for investment. The permanent works, aims to deliver the intervention to improve the condition of the M8 Woodside Viaducts on a permanent basis. The services will enable recommendations to be made for procuring the permanent Works and will advise on the expected delivery timescales. The services will include key milestones and hold points, which will allow Transport Scotland to undertake internal governance procedures to seek approval to proceed at each key stage dependent on timing and funding availability.Technical inputs will include but not be limited to assessment of baseline structural conditions and modelling. It is anticipated that the Consultant will take the opportunity to attend the temporary propping works site to understand the existing structural problems and constraints associated with the project. Based on initial advice, Transport Scotland considers that the existing M8 Woodside Viaducts are capable of being repaired and strengthened, thereby enabling full structural loading carrying capacity to be provided following the conclusion of the temporary propping works. Once repaired the temporary propping would be removed.
